Classic Daiquiri Cocktail | Simple Elegance
This classic daiquiri cocktail recipe epitomizes simplicity and elegance, requiring just three ingredients to create a delightfully delicious drink. This smooth, straightforward cocktail is a testament to the adage that less is more. Give it a try; the likelihood is high that it will become a fast favorite.

When you think about a daiquiri cocktail, your mind doesn’t automatically go to this cocktail. Your mind probably goes to a strawberry daiquiri.
Why do I prefer this daiquiri to the ones with fruit in it?
It tastes purer. Do I love daiquiris with fruit in them, like the blueberry daiquiri? Yes, I do! But in fruit daiquiris you taste the fruit and the sweet and sour mix, not so much the rum. Sometimes, I like to taste more rum.
Can I order a classic daiquiri in a restaurant?
Yes. Since it only has three ingredients and most restaurants have those ingredients, you should be safe to order it. The daiquiri is more popular now because in 2016, it was #4 of the top 5 most popular cocktails of the year. So, more people know about it. Helpful tips
- Always squeeze your fresh lime juice; don’t use bottled lime juice if you can help it. I have found that even the good quality bottled lime still has a taste and doesn’t beat freshly squeezed juice.
- Make your own simple syrup not only because it is easy, but it’s cost effective. Here’s how: Add 1 cup of sugar to 1 cup of water and boil for 5 minutes, until the sugar has desolved. Cool thoroughly before adding to a cocktail. Pour the syrup in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.
- You can use white rum instead of gold but I prefer the gold as it gives the cocktail a nice glowy look.
- I use a citrus squeezer to extract the lime juice, but a citrus reamer also works, it just takes more strength.

A classic, non-blended daiquiri might be my fella’s favorite drink of all time. I love that this one comes together with just three simple ingredients!
Thank you Jenni! I always appreciate your comments!
Love your photos, looks so fresh and tempting. Will the use of light or gold rum impact the flavor?
Alina. The two different rums taste so close to each other that I don’t think you would notice it. White rum isn’t as aged as golden or dark.
