Woo Woo Cocktail
The woo woo cocktail is the perfect way to express your love for your partner or your best galentines. It’s bright, refreshing, and delightfully flavorful. Oh, and don’t even get me started on that gorgeous red color!
Look at the color of this cocktail! It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? Doesn’t it scream Valentine’s Day? It’s screaming so loud you’ll have to plug your ears! It’s also the perfect party cocktail.
Frankly, I’ve always enjoyed saying the name. “May I have a woo woo, please?”
My sister Robyn used to order woo woos all the time when she went out, though I think she drank them in shot form. But whether you drink your woo woo as a cocktail or a shot, you will soon realize how delicious it is.
The flavor combination of the ingredients in this woo woo recipe balance each other so superbly that you will have to be careful you don’t drink it as though it didn’t have any alcohol in it. That wouldn’t be a good idea.
Why? Two reasons:
- You’ll get drunk from drinking too many too quickly
- You’ll miss the opportunity to savor this delicious and delightful cocktail
Helpful tips
- Although I love and use premium vodka like Grey Goose, a mid-level vodka like Ketel One is appropriate as well. My philosophy is buy the best alcohol you can afford.
- There are different brands of peach schnapps but I like the Peachtree brand.
- I like using a pure cranberry juice that hasn’t been sweetened. That way I can add the amount of sugar I deem appropriate instead of having to settle for the amount of sugar in most cranberry juices on the market.
- If you use commercially sweetened cranberry juice, OMIT the simple sugar or the woo woo cocktail will be too sweet.
- Wash the citrus well before using in any cocktail. I use a neutral unscented hand soap I buy at Whole Foods.
- Don’t neglect to squeeze the lime wedge into the cocktail before placing it in the drink.
- I like drinking this cocktail in a martini glass but if you prefer it on ice, you can pour it into a double old fashioned glass or highball glass.
