Woo Woo Cocktail

The Woo Woo cocktail is a fun, vibrant drink that’s perfect for celebrating with your partner or your favorite gal pals. It’s light, refreshing, and full of fruity flavor, with a stunning red hue that makes it feel extra festive.

If there is any cocktail that screams Valentine’s Day, it is this one. It’s screaming so loud you’ll have to plug your ears! It’s also the perfect party cocktail.

Frankly, I’ve always enjoyed saying the name. “May I have a woo woo, please?”

My sister Robyn used to order woo woos all the time when she went out, though I think she drank them in shot form. But whether you drink your woo woo as a cocktail or a shot, you will soon realize how delicious it is.

The flavor combination of the ingredients in this woo woo recipe balance each other so superbly that you will have to be careful you don’t drink it as though it didn’t have any alcohol in it. That wouldn’t be a good idea.

Helpful tips

  • Although I love using premium vodka like Grey Goose, a mid-range option like Ketel One works well too. My rule of thumb is to buy the best quality alcohol that fits your budget.
  • There are plenty of peach schnapps options out there, but I prefer the Peachtree brand for its smooth, fruity flavor.
  • I prefer using pure, unsweetened cranberry juice so I can control the sweetness myself. It allows you to adjust the sugar to your taste, rather than relying on the often overly sweet commercial cranberry juices.
  • If you do use a sweetened cranberry juice, skip the simple syrup—otherwise the drink will end up too sweet.
  • Make sure to wash any citrus you’re using, even for garnish. I use a neutral, unscented hand soap from Whole Foods to gently clean the skin.
  • Don’t forget to squeeze the lime wedge into the drink before dropping it in. It adds a little extra brightness that really makes a difference.
  • I love serving this in a martini glass, but if you prefer it over ice, try a double old fashioned or highball glass—it’s great either way.

Strain the cocktail into two glasses, squeeze a lime wedge over each, and drop the wedges into the cocktails. I had a little leftover so I thought I’d put it into a little coupe.
