This sugar cookie martini recipe is decadent, delicious and the perfect choice to serve at your holiday party. It’s so good, you’ll smack your lips after every sip.
Hubby doesn’t like cream based cocktails for a few different reasons:
- He is lactose intolerant.
- He doesn’t like boozy, decadent cocktails.
Well, he loves this one.
I almost always save some of the cocktails I blog about for Christopher to sample. With this one, he smacked his lips and said, “Mmmmm. This is so good. I could down it.”
I had to remind him the it had cream in it. He did take another sip for good measure. 🙂
This cocktail is a favorite at parties, especially holiday parties. Doesn’t it just scream “Holiday Season”?

Helpful tips
- I use light cream in this cocktail, and you can substitute half & half or milk, but I wouldn’t use heavy cream; that would make it a little too decadent.
- You can switch out the Baileys Irish cream with RumChata. Both are good choices.
- If you don’t have Baileys but another Irish cream liqueur, that is okay to use too.
- If you don’t have Amaretto, any almond flavored liqueur will do.
- If you can’t find sugar cookies or don’t want to make your own, use a butter cookie for the garnish around the rim of the glasses.
- Here’s how to garnish the glasses: Take a cookie and crush it into crumbs with a mortar and pestle or the back of a spoon. Sprinkle crumbs on a flat plate. Next, take your finger and wet it with simple syrup. Swipe your finger around the rim of the glasses and dip the glasses into the cookie crumbs. Make sure the rims are fully coated and shake away any excess.
- Optional: For this post, I also garnished the cocktail with small edible gold hearts; they made it easier to photograph and even prettier to look at.
How to make a sugar cookie martini
Pre-step
Garnish the glasses with crumbled sugar cookies. (See helpful tips.)
Get your cocktail shaker and fill it halfway with ice. Get your measuring glass and two martini glasses.
After measuring out the ingredients, add them to the shaker.
Step one
Gather the ingredients – Baileys Irish cream, vanilla vodka, Amaretto and light cream.
Step two
Measure 4 ounces of vanilla vodka. (A)
Step three
Measure 4 ounces of Irish cream. (B)
Step four
Measure 2.5 ounces of Amaretto. (C)
Step five
Measure 2 ounces of light cream. (D)
Step six
Cap the shaker and shake for ten seconds. Strain and divide the cocktail between the two glasses, being careful to pour the liquid so it doesn’t touch the garnished rims.
I sprinkle on some thin, small, gold, edible hearts.
See how the hearts focus the shot?
Let’s see the vertical view.
I hope you enjoyed this sugar cookie martini recipe as much as I enjoyed drinking it. 🙂

Garnish
- 1 teaspoon simple syrup

- Dip the rims into the cookie crumbs. With the glass upside down, shake the excess crumbs from the glasses
- Fill the shaker halfway with ice

- Cap shaker and shake for 10 seconds. Divide and strain the liquid between the two glasses
- If you are going to garnish with the small hearts, shake some on each martini

- This is optional: I also garnished the cocktail with small edible gold hearts that I had. One of the reasons why I did that was because cream cocktails are really hard to photograph. The other reason is it made it pretty.

There’s no doubt why your hubby loved this cocktail, even though it breaks all his “rules”!
