Helpful tips
I use light cream in this cocktail, and you can substitute half & half or whole milk, but I wouldn't use heavy cream; that would make it a little too decadent.
You can switch out the Baileys Irish cream with RumChata. Both are good choices.
If you don't have Baileys but any other Irish cream liqueur is okay to use too.
If you don't have Amaretto, use any other almond-flavored liqueur.
If you can't find sugar cookies in the store or don't want to make your own, use your favorite Christmas cookies or a butter cookie for the garnish around the rim of the glasses.
Here's how to garnish the glasses: Crush a cookie into crumbs with a mortar and pestle or the back of a spoon. Sprinkle crumbs on a flat plate. Next, take your finger and wet it with simple syrup. Swipe your finger around the rim of the glasses and dip the glasses into the cookie crumbs. Make sure the rims are fully coated and shake away any excess.
Optional: For this post, I also garnished the cocktail with tiny edible gold hearts; they made it easier to photograph and even prettier to look at.
