Love Martini | Valentine’s Perfect Cocktail

This love martini recipe is one of the most perfect cocktails to serve to your honey on Valentine’s day. Not only is the color beautiful, but the taste is exquisite.

I recently posted another Valentine’s Day cocktail called the woo woo.  My sister had always raved about the taste and after I made it, I thought it was as delicious as she stated.  But then I tried this cocktail and, in my opinion, it is even better than the woo woo!

What makes it so good?  The combination of the three ingredients.  I didn’t add any extra sugar, because it doesn’t need it.  It’s perfect as is.  The sweetness of the coconut rum and peach schnapps balanced with the tart cranberry juice makes this cocktail as sweet as I want a cocktail to be!

Helpful tips

  • I like using a pure cranberry juice that hasn’t been sweetened.  That way I can add the amount of sugar I deem appropriate instead of having to settle for the amount of sugar that they put in most cranberry juices on the market
  • Even though the cranberry juice I used doesn’t have sugar, there is no need to add any.  Try this recipe as is, and if you taste it and still think it needs sugar, add .25 ounce of simple syrup at a time to get the right amount in your cocktail
  • If you do use cranberry juice with sugar added, skip simple syrup completely – just taste it and see if you don’t like it this way
  • Whenever you eat strawberries, you need to wash them well since they are among the top ten most pesticide-ridden fruits

How to make the love martini

Pre-step

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.  Get a measuring glass and glassware.

After measuring out each ingredient, pour it into the shaker.

For the garnish, take a strawberry, cut it in 4 thin slices vertically that accentuate the fruit’s heart shape and set aside.  If need be, trim some of the strawberry to round the top so it truly looks like a Valentine’s heart.

Step one

Gather the ingredients – coconut rum, peach schnapps and cranberry juice.
