Planter’s Punch Cocktail
Made with the evocative flavor of rum and a vibrant blend of fruit juices, the planter’s punch cocktail is the ultimate summer drink. Serve it at your next barbecue or enjoy it poolside, as I do!
Look at the condensation on the side of the glass! I can just feel how cold it is before I lift this yummy cocktail to my pursed lips and sip it. Can’t you?
Even though I say it is the perfect poolside drink, you can brighten even the coldest days with this tropical drink that will transport you into thinking the warm season is upon you.

Helpful tips
- If you don’t have both white and gold rum, just use the one you do have.
- Whenever I use citrus in a cocktail or as a garnish, I always wash it to make sure it is clean from pesticides. Here’s how: squirt some natural, unscented soap in your hand. (I use a foaming soap from Whole Foods) and rub the citrus with it. Use a vegetable brush to scrub the skin and rinse with cool water to remove the soap.
- To make the garnish, slice two thin wheels from the equator of an orange. Next, I cut a slit in the skin and make a little cup with the orange wheel. I then secure it with a martini pick.
