Strawberry Cosmopolitan
Looking for the best cosmo recipe? Then you’ve got to try this strawberry cosmopolitan made with strawberry infused vodka, fresh strawberries, Cointreau, and a hint of lime. This super smooth summer cocktail is perfect for all your pool parties and backyard BBQs.
Of all the alcohol infusions I make, strawberry vodka is my favorite. And the greatest cocktail to make with that vodka is this cosmo. I look forward to and concoct it every time I make the strawberry infused vodka.
You have to try this strawberry cosmo recipe to truly understand how magical the vodka is.
If you like cosmopolitans, you are going to adore this cocktail. The vibrant taste of the vodka along with the orange essence of the liqueur is further enhanced by the fresh lime juice.

Helpful tips
- Nowadays, you can find strawberries year round. This means you can make strawberry infused vodka whenever you want, unlike cherry infused vodka, which you can only make a few months of the year, thanks to the cherry’s short growing season.
- Always wash strawberries well because they are among the ten fruits with the highest pesticide levels. It’s especially important because you are going to muddle a strawberry in the shaker, as well as using a few for the garnish.
- Don’t soak them as strawberries easily absorb water, which dilutes their flavor and sweetness.
- To wash, remove the leaves with a strawberry huller or core them out with a knife leaving as much fruit as possible. Then put them in a colander or sieve; run water over them; take them in your hands and gently rub each one with your fingers to make sure you clean it.
- After they are completely washed, place them on a paper towel and dry them off or let them air dry for several minutes.
- If you don’t have time to make strawberry vodka, you can buy it from a liquor store but you are surely missing out. So try to make the time.
How to make a strawberry cosmopolitan
Pre-step
Get a cocktail shaker (leave it empty to start), measuring glass, muddler and martini glasses.
After measuring out the ingredients, pour into the shaker.
Wash three strawberries; two for garnish and one to muddle.
Step one
Gather the ingredients – strawberry infused vodka, orange liqueur, and lime.
Step two
After washing the strawberries, hull one of them. (A)
Step three
Place the fruit in the cocktail shaker, take the muddler, and muddle the strawberry until the juice is released and you’ve pulverize it. (B)
Step four
Now fill the shaker halfway with ice. Measure 6 ounces of strawberry infused vodka.
Step five
Measure 1 ounce of Cointreau or triple sec. (C)
Step six
Measure 1 ounce of lime juice. (D)
Step seven
Cap the shaker and shake for 15 seconds.
Divide and strain the liquid between the two glasses. If you have the type of shaker that I have, you may have to clear the holes in the shaker so the liquid pours freely through them.
Step eight
Cut a slit in the bottoms of the strawberries and place one on each glass rim.
Yum. Let’s look at the vertical view.
And the overhead view.
