Notes

Helpful tips

  • I like using a squeeze-bottle chocolate sauce from Whole Foods since it’s easy to drizzle neatly inside the glass. If you’re using a jarred sauce, just spoon it in and let it cascade down the sides for that signature chocolate streak.
  • You can garnish the glasses before mixing the cocktail, but I prefer to do it right before pouring. It minimizes drips and keeps the presentation picture-perfect.
  • Shake the cocktail vigorously for at least 10 seconds to fully chill and blend the ingredients. The more energy you put in, the silkier and colder your drink will be.
  • Hosting a party? Mix the cocktail (without ice) a few hours ahead and store it in the fridge. When it’s time to serve, shake it with ice and pour—this helps the flavors meld beautifully.
  • For an elegant touch, dust the rims with cocoa powder or finely grated chocolate. It looks gorgeous and adds another layer of chocolate flavor.
  • Choose your chocolate sauce wisely—opt for one that’s smooth, rich, and not overly sweet, so it complements rather than overpowers the martini.
