Helpful tips
When making two hot toddies, mix everything in a cocktail shaker. If you’re preparing just one, build it right in the serving glass.
If you use a glass cocktail shaker, place a metal spoon inside before adding boiling water. This helps prevent the glass from cracking.
Scoop the honey with that same spoon and pour the hot water over it in the shaker so it melts and mixes easily.
The star anise garnish is optional, but it adds a lovely flavor and makes the drink look beautiful.
