Cucumber Dill Martini

This cucumber dill martini is not only delicious but it's extremely refreshing. What a fabulous melding of flavors. You're going to love this one!

Ingredients

  • 12 slices cucumber (thinly sliced)(set aside 4 for garnish)
  • 10 sprigs dill weed (set aside 4 for garnish)
  • 2 ounces lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 ounce simple syrup (or more if you like sweeter)
  • 6 ounces vodka

Garnish

  • 4 strips cucumber (peeled lengthwise with a potato peeler)

Instructions

  • Drape 2 thin strips of cucumber in each glass. Set aside
    4 strips cucumber
  • Add 8 cucumber slices, 6 sprigs of dill to cocktail shaker
    12 slices cucumber, 10 sprigs dill weed
  • Add lime juice and simple syrup and muddle the contents for 1 - 2 minutes. You should be able to smell the dill and see the crushed cucumber slices
    2 ounces lime juice, 1 ounce simple syrup
  • Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add vodka
    6 ounces vodka
  • Cap shaker and shake for 15 seconds.
  • Take of the cap of the shaker, replace it with a wire strainer and pour the liquid through a fine mesh strainer and divide between the two glasses
  • Add 2 cucumber slices and two sprigs of dill to each glass
    12 slices cucumber, 10 sprigs dill weed
  • Sip
  • Smile

Notes

Helpful tips
  • Use the best vodka you can afford. There is a difference in taste and texture that makes for a better cocktail.
  • Unless you have dill in your garden, you can find it in the produce section at the grocery store. It is usually in a small flat plastic container.
  • If you don't have a muddler, use the back of a wooden spoon.
  • Since you will be muddling the ingredients in the cocktail shaker, you won't be filling it with ice until before you add the vodka.
  • I use two strainers to avoid including broken dill and crushed cucumber in the cocktail. One is a wire strainer and the other a fine mesh strainer. If you don't have either of these, use the cap of the cocktail shaker. Just know that it will clog and it may take you a few tries to fully strain the liquid.
