Helpful tips
I use Midori, but any good-quality melon liqueur will work.
Choose the best alcohol your budget allows. Better spirits really do make a noticeable difference in flavor.
Cointreau is my preferred orange liqueur, though triple sec is a perfectly acceptable substitute.
There’s no need to add extra sweetener. The melon liqueur provides plenty of sweetness on its own.
I adore Luxardo cherries, but for this cocktail, the classic bright red maraschino cherries look best against the vibrant green color.
If you prefer a smoother drink, strain out the lemon pulp with a fine mesh strainer as you pour.
Serve this cocktail in chilled martini glasses for the best presentation.
