Helpful Tips
  • You can make this cocktail in a shaker or build in the glass. I have done it both ways. I prefer the shaker.
  • I'm using a Collin's glass and a double old fashioned glass. But you can also use a highball glass.
  • There are different brands of sloe gin. This is what I had on hand but a great brand is Plymouth sloe gin.
  • There are three different versions of Southern Comfort - original, black, and 100 - you can use any one of them, but I prefer the original.
  • I am using the Disaronno brand of Amaretto but you can use any brand you prefer.
  • Depending on the size of your glassware, you may have to adjust the ice to fill up the glass.
  • I love a good maraschino cherry. I always wash the cherries before using them as garnish because I don't want the sweetened syrup to mar the taste of the cocktail I'm making.
  • Want a more fruity flavor? Add more orange juice. This will also dilute the cocktail if you don't want a strong drink.
  • Adjust the orange juice to the size of your glass.
