Ingredients

  • 5 slices cucumber
  • 8 mint leaves
  • 1 ounce lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup 1/2 to 1 ounce, try 1/2 first
  • 3 ounces vodka

Instructions

  • Place the cucumber and mint in a cocktail shaker and add the lime juice and simple syrup. Muddle the cucumber and mint together. (I muddled it for about 3 minutes. I really wanted to squish the cucumber but not obliterate it)
5 slices cucumber, 8 mint leaves, 1 ounce lime juice, 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • Add the vodka to the mixture and add enough ice to fill it half way
    3 ounces vodka
  • Cap the shaker and shake it at least for 15 seconds or stir it, whichever you prefer
  • Strain the mixture into a martini glass, take a spoon and fish a few pieces of cucumber out, along with a few mint leaves and place it in the liquid
  • Sip
  • Smile
  • Enjoy

Notes

Helpful tips
  • Use the freshest mint you can find
  • Slice the cucumbers fairly thin - 1/8 inch
  • Muddle until the cucumber has broken up some and you can smell the mint without sticking your nose in the shaker
  • Use a 2:1 ratio of sour:sweet otherwise it is too sweet, adjust as needed
  • Use a good quality vodka
  • If you don't have a muddler, you can use the back of a wooden spoon
