Jalapeño Margarita

This margarita is slightly spicy and so delicious!  The premium ingredients make this a stellar recipe!

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces jalapeño infused tequila
  • 2 ounces Cointreau (or other orange liqueur)
  • 4 ounces lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 ounces simple syrup

Garnish

  • 8 wheels jalapeño

Instructions

  • Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice
  • Add jalapeño infused tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and simple syrup
    4 ounces jalapeño infused tequila, 2 ounces Cointreau, 4 ounces lime juice, 2 ounces simple syrup
  • Add ice to the margarita glasses, cap shaker and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
  • Strain and divide the liquid between the two glasses.
  • Add 4 jalapeno wheels to each glass
    8 wheels jalapeño
  • Sip
  • Smile

Notes

Tips for making this spicy drink:
  • It only takes 4 days to infuse tequila with jalapeños.
  • Infuse a premium tequila like Patron Silver, which makes a difference to flavor and taste.
  • As always, make your own sweet & sour mix.  I tend to like a more sour mixture than sweet, so I go with a 2:1 ratio.  I strongly suggest you go with this ratio because if you are used to the sickening sweetness of store brands, you will be pleasantly surprised by how delicious homemade can be.
  • I chose not to salt the rim of the glass because I wanted my first jalapeño margarita to be a pure experience without salt changing the taste. That said, we all know tequila loves salt.
  • I always say to use the best liquor you can afford and Cointreau is delish, but if Cointreau is not in your budget, then triple sec will work fine.
