Notes

Helpful tips
  • At the time of making this blackberry martini for the blog, I decided NOT to buy fresh, juicy blackberries either to muddle or for garnish. Why? Because the price was close to $9.00 for the tiniest container! Frozen blackberries work fine.
  • If you are going to muddle some berries, don't use more than 3 berries. You don't want them to overwhelm the flavor. The blackberry vodka is flavorful on its own.
  • Although I use lavender syrup from HipStirs - (so good), you can use regular simple syrup if you prefer.
  • I recommend Cointreau, which is a premium orange liqueur, but if it's not in your budget, you can use triple sec.
  • I chose to use dehydrated lime wheels and fresh mint leaves for garnish, but you could also use fresh blackberries or wedges of lime.
  • Don't be tempted to substitute the blackberry vodka with blackberry liqueur as the liqueur is too sweet and won't balance the cocktail correctly.
  • You can use martini glasses as I do, or coupe glasses if you prefer.
