Mint Simple Syrup

Mint simple syrup is the perfect way to sweeten your favorite craft cocktails with a refreshing infusion of minty flavor. All you need is mint, water, and sugar to make this easy DIY cocktail mixer!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  • Add water and sugar to the saucepan.

  • Take a handful of mint leaves and rub them with your palms. Add to the saucepan. Keep bruising the mint this way until you empty the cup.

  • Turn the heat to medium under the pan.
  • Take the rubber spatula and further bruise the mint by taking the edge and squishing the leaves.
  • Stir as you wait for the mixture to come to a slight boil. Cook for another minute.
  • Take the pan off of the heat and set aside to cool for at least 10 minutes.
  • Place a fine mesh strainer on a glass container and pour the contents of the pan in the strainer.
  • Let all the syrup drain off the mint. Shake the strainer to make sure you got every drop.
  • Pour the simple syrup in a freshly washed glass container.
  • Make a cocktail with the syrup.
  • Enjoy
