What makes it a sipping cocktail is it has three different alcohols, so you don't want to drink it too fast.
I've seen this cocktail made with vodka instead of gin, but the combination of Elderberry liqueur and gin is wonderful. Check out my French gimlet.
Whenever I serve a cocktail in a martini glass, I chill the cocktail glass in the freezer. I don't do it here on the blog because it's very difficult to photograph a chilled cocktail glass. But I recommend you do so, especially for a small cocktail party.
The perfect garnish for this drink is adding pomegranate arils to the bottom of the glass before pouring out the cocktail.
If you can't find St Germain liqueur, any elderberry liqueur will do.
Use a white wine like Sauvignon Blanc as you don't want a sweet wine in the cocktail since pomegranate juice, and the elderberry liqueur are both on the sweet side.
