Southern Comfort Manhattan
This Southern Comfort Manhattan recipe came to me from my Aunt Carol and Uncle Vic! It’s a tasty and delicious twist on the classic Manhattan cocktail!!
We love visiting family, don’t you? Every year Christopher’s aunt and uncle come back from their home in Las Vegas to visit their kids, grand kids, great grand kids and friends and we usually take a trip to central Massachusetts to see them.
During our last visit, we discussed the blog and my cocktails. They are dedicated readers of the blog and wanted to give me a recommendation.
Aunt Carol asked me if I had ever heard of a Manhattan made with Southern Comfort.
I hadn’t and I was intrigued. My mom used to drink classic Manhattans at dinner parties. That was her “special occasion” cocktail. I bet she would have loved this variation.
The thing I found so intriguing about the Southern Comfort Manhattan is that their version calls for both sweet and dry vermouth. I’d never heard of that before. Not in the Manhattan.
I was all in. I wanted to taste this scrumptious combo.

Thank you Rebecca!
My husband makes himself a Manhattan every night, I’m going to try this out on him!
Hi Sue! Thanks. I found it not as sweet as the typical Manhattan! Different but delicious!
That one looks so tasty! Only one of those or I would be on the floor, though! I’m pretty boring when it comes to alcohol consumption, so I fear I can’t be of any help in that department!
Hehe Beth!! I want to see you sprawled on the floor!
What a fabulous cocktail! It looks delish!

Yay for Carol and Vic and their Southern Comfort Manhattan! Now it’s famous. 🙂
Haha Christopher!
I will have to try this! I have been making Manhattans for a long time, but I have only used sweet vermouth. I also add cherry brandy. I’m going to buy some dry vermouth! Thanks for the great recipe, because I love Southern Comfort!😀
I hope you enjoy it Judy! And yum on the cherry brandy. How much do you use?
These are delicious! I’m not a fan of the traditional Manhattans but the Southern Comfort twist with these are great. I’ve made them for company and they loved them too! Thank you!!
I’m so pleased you enjoyed the recipe. Our aunt and uncle turned me on to them! And thank you for taking the time to let me know. I appreciate it Mary.
