Double Chocolate Bread
This double chocolate bread recipe is so moist and delicious. It has such a deep chocolate taste that it will satisfy your sweet craving.
The possibilities
I have been mulling this bread over in my head for a few months. You see, I usually make this recipe in muffin form. You can see the delicious evidence here.
I’ve been curious whether the recipe would work in bread form. The only thing that was ‘different’ is where the muffins are nice and puffy, the bread sunk a little. It is cooked the whole way through but it still sunk.
And that’s okay by me.

How to make double chocolate bread
Pre-step
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and liberally grease a loaf pan.
Step one
Gather the ingredients – spelt flour, almond flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda and cocoa powder. (A)
Step two
Add the dry ingredients to a mixing bowl and use a pastry blender to combine.
Step three
Gather the wet ingredients – Greek yogurt, almond milk, an egg and some oil to the dry mixture. (B)
Step four
Add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture.and stir the ingredients together with a rubber spatula until just combined combined.
Step five
I use 2 different types of chocolate chips: large, 60% bittersweet chips and regular bittersweet chips. (C)
Fold most of the chocolate chips in the batter and pour the batter in the bread pan.
Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top of the batter. (D)
Step six
Bake it for 45 – 50 minutes (or until done as all ovens are different.)
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it and placing it on a wire rack.
You can either cut the bread into slices and eat it now or you can wait for the bread to fully cool.
Can you guess what I did?
It’s so moist and delicious!
Time to plate a piece.
And of course, taste it!
Soooooo good!

Everything with chocolate is my kind of dessert! Your chocolate chip bread looks really moist! I would probably have 2 or 3 slices in one sitting.
And there’s the rub Iryna. I could too! 🙂

This looks amazing! I find that a sunken bread means it is more delicious, in my humble opinion!

I’m hunting for some quick fix dessert and what do I see…. your ever so tempting chocolate chip bread…. now this is not death by chocolate but death by temptation. Ummm maybe a chocolate mug cake… yes that will have to do for now.
Haha Mayuri!! Enjoy the chocolate mug cake!!
It doesn’t look particularly sunken to me, but it does look delicious! ? I love to make things like this and hide vegetables in them…. zucchini is particularly good with chocolate and I love the use of spelt/almond flour here! I’ll be giving it a go! ?
Thank you Gabby! Zucchini would be absolutely lovely in this bread!
